Bertram was run over by a heavy tram wagon at his grandparents farm outside of Moncton. He was apparently playing on or around the hay wagon unknown to the teamster. Bertram revived briefly that afternoon but died from his injuries the next day.

1898 - Dot was born in May 22, 1898 to Franklin Ford Peters and Edith Isabelle Dempster in Moncton, New Brunswick.

1904 - had scarelet fever, her grandfather bought one of the first Teddy Bears. This same Teddy was handed down to her daughter Lucille when she was a little girl, then to her grandson Paul when he was little boy. Paul still was Teddy.

1978 - She died in Winnipeg at age 80.

1893 - William (Billy and Bill) Francis Seller was born at 2 Oak Tree Cottages, Commercial Road, Parkstone, Dorset, England on September 27, 1893 to William Henry Seller and Louisa Morgan.

1893 - Baptized on December 25, 1893 in the Wesleyan-Methodist Chapel, Constitution Hill, Dorset, England.

1906 approx - age 12 to 14 Spent time on a pilot boat as a cure for his asthma as a young teenager.

1908 - age 15 William (Bill) was a member of the first Scout Troop in Parkstone Dorset, England with Baden-Powell.

1912 - the Titanic sinks on April 15, 1912. He always claimed that he had wanted to emigrate that year and possibly would have been on the Titanic. However, his father convinced him to join the family firm and take up a trade as a plumber for a year, saying, that while he likely wouldn't work with his hands, in a new country there would always be work.

1913 - Immigrated to Canada, at age 19, from Liverpoole on July 16, 1913 and arrived in Quebec City, on the Empress of Ireland Ship. The line was the Canadian Pacific Railway Atlantic Steamship Line. The passenger list indicates that he is a plumber and will be looking for clerical work in Canada. He carried $30 cash with him. The rest of his family arrived in Quebec on October 25, 1913

1914 - worked as a clerk at the Union Bank. Lived at 793 Bevereley St. Winnipeg.
Worked as a clerk for the Union Bank of Canada prior to WW1. Billy said that he was hired because he played soccer and the Bank team had been losing in the local league and that the manager wanted a winning team.

Believed to have enlisted with the Fort Garry Horse in Winnipeg early in the war but cannot find records to confirm this. (34th Troop B Squadron).

William's group was to go overseas when he became ill and was unable to travel, so was discharged . It is known that some records from that period have gone missing when the FGH had to be moved out of the Armoury. Pictures of the Fort Garry Horse are in William's photo album with one of him sitting on his horse.

1916 - On April 12 he enlisted with the 4th Canadian Casualty Clearing Station (age 22 years and 8 months) His address and his mother's is listed as 793 Beverley Street, Winnipeg.

1916 - He arrived in England on May 29, 1916 and was promoted to Lance Corporal. On June 1, 1917 he proceeded overseas with his unit to Harve, France. War Diaries for the 4th C.C.C.S. indicate he would have been at the following locations: Longueness as of 30 Jun 1917; Ruitz as of 11 Dec 1917; Pernes, as of 27 Mar 1918 until 4 May 1918.

1918 - On May 4, 1918 he left the No. 4 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station in Pernes, France to transfered to the Royal Air Force (age 25) and trained with No. 4 Squadron No. RAF Cadet Wing and was stationed in Schornliffe, England.

1918 - Appointed flight cadet on November 7, 1918.

1919 -Discharge as occurring in 1919. It's is unknown why he choose to remain in England after the war.

Family in Winnipeg appears to have moved from Beverley Street to 372 Lansdown, Winnipeg.

Discharge in England.... to Commercial Road in Dorset. (Age 25)

1919 - He returned to Canada departing from Liverpoole and arriving in Winnipeg on March 30, 1919. The passenger manifest indicates that he is a Flight Cadet travelling to Winnipeg with #316328. [2]

It is known that he returned to his Bank Clerk employment in Winnipeg, arriving in Winnipeg in the spring of 1919 during the Winnipeg General Strike.

He suffered from Shell Shock ... doctor advised to get away.....

1920 - Worked for the Canadian National Railway (CNR), as a construction timekeeper, when building track north of Lake Superior for one summer likely 1920.

1921 - At age 28, on September 17, 1921 Billy married Dorothy Isabel Peters in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

1922 - Bill started with radio in 1922 as an announcer for the Winnipeg Free Press and Tribune stations.

1924 - his first child, Phyllis Doreen was born February 26, 1924.

1927 - His daughter's, Lucille, birth certificate indicates that he is a clerk with the Winnipeg Hydro Electric Company.

1927 - his second child, Lucille Allison was born October 28, 1927.

In 1931 he started with CKY owned by MTS. That same year he wrote a short comedy sketch called "Ebony and White" which became a regular program which lasted for six years.

1936 - He moved to Brandon, Manitoba as General Manager of radio station CKX in November 1936 with his family following in January.

1985 - at age 92, he died at Central Park Lodge, on Posieden Avenue in 1985. Ashes are interned in the Thompson (Waverly Street) mausoleum in Winnipeg.

The little fellow was not noticed by the teamster who started the horse, knocking him down, the wheels passing clear over his body.

An accident which resulted fatally at Columbia Farm, Fox Creek (West. Co.) Wednesday afternoon when little Burton PETERS the 5 year old s/o Frank PETERS, sustained injuries which resulted in death yesterday afternoon. The lad, who was a bright little fellow, was playing in a heavy truck wagon. The hostler started the team to proceed to another part of the farm and had not proceeded far when he heard the cry of the child and on looking back saw the unortunate boy lying on his back on the ground, he having tumbled over the side of the wagon and the wheel passed over his body. He was picked up and carried into the house and Drs. Bourque and McCully summoned. He fell into an unconscious state but subesquently recovered his senses and appeared quite bright. Peritonitis set in, however, and resulted in the little fellow's death.
