George Cavaghan won a medal for ‘Bravery In The Field’ at Passchendaele. That’s what the M.M. is for after his name. The next year he was shot twice at Cambrai during the Final Hundred Days surge. He was in and out of Deer Lodge Military Hospital many times apparently, as his chest wound wouldn’t heal properly. The last time he suffered a heart attack on the operating table.
