A family involved in theatre, Doreen won a scholarship to the Banff School of Fine Arts and then joined the Everyman's Theatre in Vancouver. Doreen met her future husband, Zig Rosmus, in Vancouver. Here they raised their family, Ken (Judy), Janet & Bill. In 1967, the family relocated to Oakville, Ont. In 1984 Doreen returned to Winnipeg and worked with the CN Railway. She moved to the lower mainland in 2003. Doreen was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

James Blair Shelor, 72, died Friday, December 20, 2002. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia but has resided in Prince George County since 1957. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Rosmus Shelor; a son, Timothy P. Shelor, daughter-in-law, Sharon, and granddaughter, Sara Ann; one daughter, Kristen Shelor Duncan, son-in-law, Robert P. Duncan, grandson, Benjamin, and granddaughter, Elizabeth. He is also survived by three sisters, Mary Manth of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Nancy Crowder of Norcross, Georgia, and Charlotte Blackwell of Roanoke, Va.; and one brother, Robert P. Shelor of Roanoke, Va. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles Alfred and Josephine Poague Shelor; and an older brother, Charles Alfred Shelor Jr. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. He retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and the City of Colonial Heights as an air conditioning mechanic. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary being led by Father Adrian Harmening at 7 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George County, Va.
